Named for the sake of this article, Superman: Son of Krypton would serve as a tone-setter for the next decade and more of the DCEU. That is why this next era of the DCEU should begin with a brand-new Superman film. Superman: Son of Krypton DCįor WB, Superman should be their bread and butter. Discovery should go ahead with their big screen ventures in the DC universe. So, with a Marvel-esque ten-year plan being put in place, here is how Warner Bros. But with The Flash coming next year, a supposed reset point is sitting on the horizon. Since the DCEU’s inception, it has been shifting its focus as directors are forced out, stars ask to leave, and big names get tied up with the law.įor every move Warner has chosen to make for the DCEU, they have been forced to make just as many because of external forces. But this is not the first strategy shift that has happened for the franchise. Discovery CEO David Zaslav saying that the property ‘ is at the top of the list" for the WB. The studio revealed that it is in the middle of building a “team with a ten-year plan focusing just on DC," with Warner Bros. After the studio recently canceled the upcoming Batgirl film, WB announced they are ready to reevaluate the DCEU. Discovery has got some soul-searching to do when it comes to their DC strategy going forward. I really tried to incorporate most of the DC mythos, there are a lot of stories that I want in my DCEU but there is simply not enough room.Warner Bros. I also considered Batman Beyond.įor more information, see Cancelled projects. And it was too similar to Infinity War-Endgame haha. Now, the Blackest Night film would've been set after Darkseid's invasion, and would've been the story of reviving the heroes after Darkseid killed most of them (There was only planned to be one Darkseid invasion film), but I scrapped it because I didn't want the generic plot armor than the heroes can't die. And a movie that was tragically scrapped forever was Blackest Night. Other than that I scrapped some pretty big ideas too like an Injustice film, which would be followed by Kingdom Come film, which THEN would be followed Watchmen film, that would tie to Doomsday Clock. All-in-all It was pretty messy so I scrapped it altogether and just making the DCEU be inhabited by existing DC characters. The Dark Age is the chapter confined to Darkseid.Īt one time I had my own DC characters that was to be the closing of the DCEU, called the Supreme League/Justice Tomorrow/The Imperial Force (I didn't settle on a name lol) but then as I grew older I realized my storylines were damn stupid and very generic lmaoo, for instance, one of my original DC villains (for the Supreme League series) was a hybrid of Martian Manhunter and Brainiac, named Brainiac X (because MM has an X symbol), one of the main characters, named Samantha Drake (daughter of Tim and Steph) was going to be possessed by an evil witch, and a Starro-like alien named Antimatter inspired by the Ultraman Gaia monster. The period ends with the death of Superman, a cataclysm that inadvertently causes the end of humanity. The Bronze Age is the endgame before the great battle against Darkseid, just like the Bronze Age of comic books, this era tackled many real life problems. This is the time of Lex Luthor's rise to power and his journey to defeat the Justice League alongside the Legion of Doom. The Silver Age is set in a new timeline that would steer the story into the end of the phase. The Golden Age tells the story of the dawning of the Justice League and the tragic end of the original timeline. But I wanted it to be different so I made them Ages instead: So I just thought, " Oh heck, Lemme just follow everyone and make my DCEU have phases in them too", so I did. So as a coping mechanism I made this fantasy world in my head of what a cohesive DCEU would be like.įrom the beginning I never planned for my DCEU to have any phases, because that would be too much like the MCU, but that changed in early 2021, when I just seen every other fan's DCEU have phases in them. I started creating my personal ideal DC Extended Universe around 2016, by that time me and many other DC fans were still full of hope for the future of the real-world DC Extended Universe, until of course, it all kind of went to shit.
